Deploying autonomous AI agents in a Moroccan business
Most teams in Morocco already juggle WhatsApp, email, spreadsheets and a CRM. An autonomous AI agent becomes useful when it connects those tools around one specific task, with clear rules and a person who can take over.
Start with a process that costs time
Strong first use cases are repetitive and measurable: qualifying incoming WhatsApp requests, drafting a quote from a brief, following up dormant leads or answering frequent questions in Darija, French and Arabic. Measure volume and time spent before building so you can compare after the pilot.
Connect the right tools with the right rights
An agent is only autonomous within the scope you open to it. List the systems it may read (CRM, catalogue, internal documents) and those it may write to. Use dedicated service accounts, read-only access by default and the official WhatsApp Business API rather than unauthorized workarounds.
Respect Law 09-08 and the CNDP
Customer data handled by an agent is still personal data. Identify the legal basis, inform the people concerned, minimise what is sent to models and check the declarations or authorisations required by the CNDP, especially when data is processed on servers abroad.
Supervise before you expand
Run a pilot of a few weeks with human approval on sensitive actions: sending an offer, editing a customer record, payments. Track correct answers, escalations to the team and API costs, then widen the scope step by step.
